The Hillsborough Rescue Squad is offering free Bleeding Control classes as part of the National “Stop the Bleed” initiative.

Class participants will learn the ABCs of how to control severe, life-threatening bleeding:

     Alert—Call 911.

     Bleeding—Find the bleeding injury.

     Compress—Apply pressure by:

• Covering the wound with a clean cloth and applying pressure by pushing directly on it with both hands, OR Using a tourniquet, OR Packing (filling) the wound with gauze or a clean cloth and then applying  pressure with both hands.
