To better serve the residents of both communities, Hillsborough EMS and Montgomery EMS have partnered to offer CPR and first aid classes every month. American Heart Association courses offered include; BLS for Healthcare Providers, Heartsaver® CPR and First Aid and Family and Friends CPR. Registration is required at least seven days prior to the class.

CPR - Basic Life Support
(Formerly Healthcare Provider) The BLS Course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. In the Instructor-led course, students participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an AHA BLS Instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing. Students also complete a written exam. Heartsaver® CPR AED
This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory or other requirements. Adults Course Length: approximately 1.5 hours. Adults / Children Course Length: approximately 2 hours. Adults / Children / Infants Course Length: approximately 3 hours. |
Heartsaver® First Aid
This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in first aid to meet job, regulatory or other requirements. Course Length: 3-4 Hours Heartsaver® First Aid / CPR AED This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in first aid to meet job, regulatory or other requirements. Course Length: 6-7 hours |
Family & Friends® CPR
Family & Friends CPR is for people who want to learn CPR but do NOT need a course completion card. The Family & Friends CPR Course teaches the lifesaving skills of adult Hands-Only® CPR, child CPR with breaths, adult and child AED use, and relief of choking in an adult and child. Infant (under one year of age) skills are optional. |
