To better serve the residents of both communities, Hillsborough EMS and Montgomery EMS have partnered to offer CPR and first aid classes every month. American Heart Association courses offered include; BLS for Healthcare Providers, Heartsaver® CPR and First Aid and Family and Friends CPR. Registration is required at least seven days prior to the class.

CPR - Basic Life Support
(Formerly Healthcare Provider) The BLS Course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. In the Instructor-led course, students participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an AHA BLS Instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing. Students also complete a written exam. Instructor Course The American Heart Association (AHA) Instructor Course is designed to prepare providers who would like to become instructors in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). more info |
Heartsaver® CPR AED
This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory or other requirements. Adults Course Length: approximately 1.5 hours. Adults / Children Course Length: approximately 2 hours. Adults / Children / Infants Course Length: approximately 3 hours. |
Heartsaver® First Aid
This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in first aid to meet job, regulatory or other requirements. Course Length: 3-4 Hours Heartsaver® First Aid / CPR AED This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in first aid to meet job, regulatory or other requirements. Course Length: 6-7 hours |
Family & Friends® CPR
Family & Friends CPR is for people who want to learn CPR but do NOT need a course completion card. The Family & Friends CPR Course teaches the lifesaving skills of adult Hands-Only® CPR, child CPR with breaths, adult and child AED use, and relief of choking in an adult and child. Infant (under one year of age) skills are optional. |
